This memorial website was created in the memory of our beloved Maria Trevino who was born in Encinal, Texas on 30th May 1944 and passed away on 10th April 2015, 70 years of age.Maria Garcia Trevino, a resident of Richland Hills Texas, died Friday April 10th at the age of 70 years old surrounded by her family. Born May 30th 1944 in Encinal Texas, Maria was the oldest of 4 children and was raised by her Grandparents. At a young age, Maria was taught about hard work and dedication as she was raised on a ranch in South Texas. At the age of 15, she was a bus driver for Cotulla ISD and went on to graduate Cotulla high school in 1963. It was at that time, that she began her college education. She was also very involved with the Women’s and Latino’s civil rights movement. In 1970 Maria married Arnoldo J. Trevino in San Antonio Texas and they had 2 sons, Arnold and Joe. Maria moved to Laredo in 1979 and stayed there until 1989 where she then moved to Irving Texas. It was at that time that she began her job at Eckerd’s Drug Store.  Throughout her time at Eckerd’s she was able to travel across the country and open new stores and was loved by so many. She worked there until 2002. She survived by her Son Arnold Trevino, Wife Crystal Trevino, Children Isabella, Gabriella and Nico. Son Joe Trevino, Wife Christina Trevino, Children Andy, Lauryn and Michael as well as multiple family members. A memorial service in her honor will be held at Christian Center of Ft. Worth, in Haltom City Texas, on Friday April 17th at 5pm.
