OBITUARY SCRIPTURE

When we think about life we think about love and all the aspects that come along the way.  The bond of a marriage that Shawn and Debbie had is the model that I truly believe God is trying to express.  Shawn and Debbie had a bond that withstood the hardest trials, but always continued to maintain the mirror of God’s love.  With their children by their side we know the past couple of years have not been easy, but the unconditional support that they have given each other has made each day a little easier to bare.  Shawn would not want us to suffer, but to lean on the knowing that God has his hand and will walk him through the glorious fields of grace that only God can supply.  God has always promised never to give us more than we can handle, but with that comes trust.  God trusted us enough to love, care and support Shawn for 49 years, but wants us to trust him know to hold him.

God had a wonderful plan for Shawn’s life that will continue on for eternity.  God loves Debbie, Claire, Micaela and Jacob more than words can say and will carry you when it seems too hard to walk.  The shadow of your life will lift up and the presence of a man named Heavenly Father will carry your grieving heart to a more comfortable place to rest.  Shawn will be missed, that is inevitable, however the love that he has given his wife and children over the years, will continue for years to come.  Think of your memory of Shawn and continue to live it, continue to talk and laugh, continue to sing and praise, continue to love and adore, and know that his memory is in your heart and can go with you every single day until you meet again.  The pain is gone, the suffering no more, the body is healthy.  I can imagine Shawn sitting on the top of the highest mountain with God, hand in hand, looking down at the amazing family he has helped to raise, and knowing with such an amazing wife and mom as Debbie that all things will be okay, because God is in control.

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, and hopes all things.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
