Remember Me

signed byUnknown
Remember Me To the living, I am gone, To the sorrowful, I will never return, To the angry, I was cheated, But to the happy, I am at peace, And to the faithful, I have never left. I cannot speak, but I can listen. I cannot be seen, but I can be heard. So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea- As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity- Remember me. Remember me in your heart: Your thoughts, and your memories, Of the times we loved, The times we cried, The times we fought, The times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.

Intro text

Heath Adam Caple was a loving husband, a caring and devoted father. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He was blessed with extended family members close by who included Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Step-parents and Step-siblings. He had many friends he could count on and loved like family. Heath was 31 when he was diagnosed with Metastatic Colon Cancer. Many statistics gave him 6-9 months to live, but he fought and lived his life for 19 months.  The one thing that Heath always said, was that through this tragedy he was able to accomplish many things in his life that he may not have been able to acheive.  He visited the states twice, found peace with his family and close friends, and most of all experienced the unconditional love of his family that he had been longing for. In his visits to the USA he experienced many things.  He went to a major league baseball game and saw Roger Clemens pitch.  He visited Nasa, Kemah boardwalk on the Texas Coast, and honeymooned in Las Vegas.  He loved Vegas and was very lucky winning $120 on the penny slots and always walking away from the black jack table ahead.  He enjoyed having Wednesday morning breakfast with my dad and the retired men, sharing stories and jokes.  We visited the Texas Rangers Museum and the Texas State capital building.  We went out to the country where he shot targets with a shot gun.  He loved walking Madison to and from school and playing basketball with Dustin after school.  He visited the Alamo and the San Antonio riverwalk, went to a NBA Spurs game, saw Bill Engvall at the San Antonio Rodeo, and watched an Australian pitcher he knew by name at the minors.  He went to Sea World with Dustin and got to spend the day bonding.  He loved being in the states because he could live a "normal" life for a few months.  No doctors or treatments, just friends and family and new experiences.

Heaths Eulogy Heath Adam Caple: was known by many a nick name, Dooey, Ox, Beef, Heater, Biarch and mate. Heath was always a big boy with big bones and an even bigger heart, he was a proud man and I stand proud here today to be able to speak of his life. Heath was born to Jan and Larry in November of 73. Heath and I first met about 5 days after he was born when Jan came down to see Nola and I was only a few hours old. He started out as a late walker but a very early talker and being able to spin a yarn was one of heaths fortes. Dooey's love for baseball started out at a very early age playing t-ball. Even with the ball on the tee he still managed to step into the bucket. Something he was never able take out of his game. In his early days "Ox" spent many holidays up at his favourite places like Quins Rocks, Ledge Point and Cervantes. There he found a true liking for his fishing. He is known as "the king of the sand whiting", spending hours on the beach chasing the biggest of the fish in the sea. He was happy doing that. Beef was also a keen arcade-game freak; he would walk down to the bowling centre in Morley almost everyday after school feeding the machines 20 cents at a time. The owners of the bowl were grateful. With the introduction of the home consoles the need for that walk went away. Heath was a radio stations worst nightmare. His collection of his 80's music must have started there for he had an uncanny ability to be the 10th caller to phone with the right answer. I think the hosts and heath were on a first name basis. Dooey also experienced the life of the sea; sailing with the Leuwin was a big thing for him, as he would talk about it so often. Driving a car didn't come easy to Heater he was happy to catch a bus or ride his bike. When he finally got his licence his skills created a lot of white-knuckle experiences for his passengers. However gaining his licence gave him the freedom to visit whoever he wanted usually around pizza time at our house. Heath was many things to many people - he was a Son, a Brother, a Friend, a Husband and a Father. He was the music man in the old Perth Heat days mixing it up for the crowds with his finger ready on the effects button, always ready to unleash the "whoop there it is" when the ball left the park. Heaths' passion for his 80's music was sometimes unbearable to some, but he didn't care (His 30th birthday was an 80's party which he planned for ages) on that night he wore his all time favourite happy pants, if you criticized it he would tell you to just shut up. He was never afraid of a confrontation but he did know when to stop. With his work in security, Biarch found where he belonged, a professional night owl working the clubs refusing even his mates entry because they had no i..d .but that was Heath his humour was one of a kind , raw, straight up and strong. Heater will be greatly missed but not forgotten. His legend will "live strong" with those who were along side him. We all know his fight was as strong as his dedication to what he was involved in. His winter softball was a favourite pastime giving it his all to achieve victory. Although he was unable to play baseball last season, he stepped forward to help in a coaching role with the reserves team - achieving a Grand final appearance. He is going to leave a lasting impression on everyone he has known through his love for his family, friends and enemies. Mat told me he was not just his brother he was his best mate, for when he married Michelle he was proud to have the big fella by his side as his best man. Sharing a room with heater created a bond of "anything for you as you would for me". Mat, Keryn and Kym will miss their brother, but you only have to look at Emma Rose and you will see Heater. His love for his little niece was enormous, his love for his big boy Brayden was big and his love for Dustin and Madison was something out of this world. His little sisters were proud to have dooey as one of their big brothers always looking out for them , he would always be the first to ask if they were ok. He loved his kez and flea... When Heath needed them the most, Jan, Colin, Larry and Carolyn all rallied together to support him. With their love and understanding, despite his reluctance to accept help, Heath travelled through his tough journey knowing how loved and supported he was. Being a chat-room specialist led him to meeting Debbie, his wife. He embraced her with a love I had never seen in Heath, so in love that every night at 5.45 before Deb was in Australia, he would be her wakeup call, and should he be in the middle of a conversation with someone- else then bad luck, you would just have to wait. He wanted so much to show Deb and the kids so much of Australia -his home. He once said "Deb is my rock. And the kids and her are my life". "Without her I could not fight the fight I have to." His passion for baseball ensured he followed his dream of seeing a major league baseball game on his trips to the U.S.nothing was going to stop him from achieving these dreams. On that night he witnessed one of his idols pitching, shedding a tear as he stood for the anthem. He also visited the NASA space centre, Las Vegas, The Lance Armstrong Foundation - where he got a guided tour, a Spurs v's Milwakee basketball game, the San Antonio Rodeo - where he got to see the comedian Bill Engvall, one of his redneck favourites. The Texas Rangers museum was on his list, and he proudly rang Larry to tell him he was going to the john on the Texas State Capital when he visited there. He visited the Alimo and he also went out to the Boonies and let off some Lead. One of his favourite purchases was a $1.99 64 ounce Big Red Gulp and the "Smokey Bones" had the best beef ribs!!. There are a million stories I could tell, some more incriminating than others, but to have been there for most of them is something I will never forget. Heath's journey was quickly travelled and "he lived it strong" The old saying of "only the good die young" couldn't ring more true. Mate You will be greatly missed R.I.P H.A.C 3.11.1973 - 13.12.2006

Heath was always willing to help others. Many a time I called him to help me out from checking my house for intruders to bringing me a ciggy when my car broke down. I will miss him always. I miss his stupid jokes - his stories and the way he made me laugh. I miss hearing his "big boy!" whenever he saw Brayden. I miss his hugs whenever I was sad. I miss his face... xoxo
